Andrea Miller

Andrea Miller is the Editor of Lion’s Roar (formerly called Shambhala Sun), the leading Buddhist magazine in the English language. Miller has written extensively including profiles of and interviews with spiritual teachers, thinkers, and creatives including Thich Nhat Hanh, Mingyur Rinpoche, Ram Dass, Jane Goodall, Anne Lamott, Jeff Bridges, kd lang, and Tina Turner. She’s written personal pieces about her own spiritual path and reported on how Buddhism intersects with today’s most pressing issues, including diversity, equity, and inclusion, and the climate crisis. Miller has an MFA in creative writing from the University of British Columbia. She’s the author of the children’s book The Day the Buddha Woke Up and the editor of several anthologies, including Buddha’s Daughters: Teachings from Women Who Are Shaping Buddhism in the West. Miller serves on the board of the interreligious journal CrossCurrents. She is currently working on her next book.
