Karla Kamstra

Karla Kamstra, or Rev Karla, is a mother, grandmother and ordained minister who lives in Bloomington, Indiana with her husband and rescue dogs.   She was raised and trained as a faithful, Southern Baptist churchgoer who accompanied her grandmother on Sunday’s and Wednesday’s every week since she was a young girl in Kentucky.  She loved church and she loved Jesus.  When, at the age of 50, she could no longer sit comfortably with the internal stirrings of her soul that would not stop bubbling up, she decided to leave the Church.  That began a journey which led her to graduate school and ultimately ordination from One Spirit Interfaith Seminary.  She now spends her time ministering online to over 600,000 in her congregation every week through her blog, videos, social media accounts and podcasts. She is working on her first book, THE SPIRITUAL WILDERNESS which will be published by St. Martin’s Essentials in 2024.
