Rima Vesely-Flad​, Ph.D.

Rima Vesely-Flad, Ph.D. is Professor of Philosophy and Social Justice and Director of Peace and Justice Studies at Warren Wilson College in Asheville, NC. She has been a Fulbright Scholar and Awardee in South Africa and Ghana. She has led Buddhist teaching and meditation courses at the Barre Center and is Director of the Inside Out Prism Education Program which is a partnership between the Swannanoa Correctional Institution for Women and Warren Wilson College. She is author of BLACK BUDDHISTS AND THE BLACK RADICAL TRADITION, RACIAL IMPURITY AND DANGEROUS BODIES and BUDDHISM AND WHITENESS. She is currently working on her first trade book, THE FIRE INSIDE: The Dharma of James Baldwin & Audre Lorde which will be published by HarperWave in 2024.
