Amna Khalid, Ph.D.

Amna Khalid is a professor in the Department of History at Carleton College in Northfield, MN. She specializes in issues related to censorship and free expression, South Asian history and the history of medicine and she speaks frequently on academic freedom and campus politics. She is a founding member of the Academic Freedom Alliance and served as the John Stuart Mill Faculty Fellow at Heterodox Academy. She hosts the Banished podcast. Khalid’s work has appeared in The Chronicle of Higher Education, The New Republic and The Conversation. She is currently working on her first trade book with co-author Jeff Snyder.
